Galaxy Hotels Group has announced the conversion of the 220-key Cedar Rapids Hotel, in the US state of Iowa, into a Radisson Hotels Americas brand and initiated its renovation process.

The new Radisson Hotel Cedar Rapids, located at 1200 Collins Road NE in Cedar Rapids, represents the first hotel conversion since Choice Hotels International acquired the Radisson Hotels Americas brand in 2022.

Owned by Voyage Capital Group, the atrium-style, seven-story hotel will be operated by Galaxy Hotels Group.

Radisson Hotel Cedar Rapids boasts nearly 26,000ft² of event space for company meetings, banquets and weddings, along with a Grand Ballroom that can accommodate 1,000 guests.

It also includes an executive lounge, a heated indoor pool, a fitness centre and a business centre.

Guests can enjoy food at the on-site restaurant the Cedar Grille and the adjacent lounge.

The hotel is 15 minutes from Eastern Iowa Airport and a few minutes away from the historic Brucemore estate, the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art and the Indian Creek Nature Center.

The company noted that the newly branded Radisson Hotel Cedar Rapids will remain open during the extensive renovation work.
