Global hospitality company Hilton is expanding its presence in Manchester, UK, with the signing of two new hotel agreements with Dean Street Developments.
The upcoming properties are the Motto-branded hotel in Piccadilly Basin and a Hampton property in Manchester City Centre, which together will add more than 500 rooms to the city’s accommodation options.
The development will mark the first Motto by Hilton hotel in Manchester and the second Hampton in the city, which is set to become the largest of its brand in Europe.
The Hampton by Hilton hotel will be situated on Deansgate, a central location close to major attractions such as the Palace Theatre, Manchester Opera House, and several well-known museums.
The 22-storey hotel will feature 358 rooms, as well as facilities for fitness, meetings and dining.
Its proximity to Deansgate-Castlefield railway station will provide guests with direct links to Manchester Airport.
This hotel is expected to open in early 2026. Guests will also have access to complimentary hot breakfast options under Hampton’s signature programme.
Scheduled to open in 2027, the Motto by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly hotel comprises a 21-storey building offering 154 rooms, a restaurant, bar and fitness area.
Hilton UK, Ireland and the Nordics development vice-president Nick Smart said: “Manchester has firmly established itself as a leading travel hotspot, drawing millions with its dynamic mix of leisure, business, and world-class sport. We’re excited to build on this momentum with our newest Hampton by Hilton and the city’s first Motto by Hilton.
“We thank Dean Street Developments for their valued partnership and vision in bringing these exciting developments to the city of Manchester.”
According to Hilton, Manchester is a major destination in the UK, attracting over four million domestic visitors and 1.7 million international tourists annually. This accounts for more than 11 million overnight stays a year.
Dean Street Developments CEO Adi Hodzic said: “With Europe’s largest Hampton and the city’s first Motto, these two unique hotels will elevate the city’s hospitality offering in one of the UK’s most dynamic destinations.”
Guests at both upcoming hotels will have access to Hilton Honors, the company’s loyalty programme.
Members booking directly through Hilton can earn points for stays and receive benefits such as contactless check-in and exclusive discounts.
Hilton recently launched its Conrad Hotels & Resorts property in Hamburg, which marks the brand’s debut in Germany.
