Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has partnered with Merlin Group for a new SeleQtions branded hotel in Kolkata, expanding its portfolio in West Bengal, India.
The resort, named IBIZA – an IHCL SeleQtions, will feature 130 rooms and is set to open in October 2025.
Located on Diamond Harbour Road, the property spans 11 acres and is positioned as an urban resort.
The resort will cater to a variety of guest needs with amenities, including an all-day diner, a restaurant, a bar, and a swimming pool.
It will also offer a lake and a range of recreational activities suitable for all ages, including both indoor and outdoor options, as well as dedicated areas for children.
For events and business meetings, the resort will comprise a 5,400ft² ballroom, conference halls, pre-function areas, and meeting rooms. Scenic outdoor venues will also be available for special occasions.
IHCL real estate and development executive vice president Suma Venkatesh said: “This signing is another step in IHCL expanding its footprint in Kolkata, a thriving metropolitan state capital. It will address the need for getaway destinations at a short driving distance from the city, which will help tap into the increasing demand for both leisure as well as MICE.

With this new addition, IHCL will operate seven hotels under various brands in Kolkata, including two that are currently under development.
Earlier this month, IHCL signed a Taj-branded resort in Kollam, Kerala, marking its first property in the area.
The resort, a Brownfield project, is set on a vast 13-acre site along the picturesque Thirumullavaram Beach, featuring nearly 600ft of beachfront.
Furthermore, last month saw the opening of another SeleQtions branded property in Munnar, Kerala.
The Scenic Munnar – IHCL SeleQtions is the company's first luxury establishment in the Idukki district and offers 55 rooms, including villas with private plunge pools, set amidst the backdrop of the Western Ghats and tea plantations.
