Marriott International’s Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts brand has expanded its Indian footprint by launching a new hotel in Amritsar, Punjab.

The new Le Méridien Amritsar, situated within 1.5km from the Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, marks the brand’s 11th property in the country.

It features 147 family rooms and suites, each equipped with a 55in LED TV, internet access and the Le Méridien signature bed, as well as bath amenities.

The property includes a large lobby designed to allow natural light penetration. This lobby features contemporary art and décor, including a horse installation.

The hotel additionally features an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness centre, a spa and several food outlets, including Asian Bistro that offers Thai, Chinese, Indonesian and Japanese cuisine, a coffee house and the cocktail bar Latitude, as well as the all-day dining restaurant Le Grand Café.  

Other amenities comprise multi-compatible meeting areas of more than 20,000ft², including six meeting rooms, a grand ballroom and alfresco areas for open-air events.

Guests at the hotel can also access the city’s galleries and exhibitions through Le Méridien’s global Unlock Art programme.
