July 2021 has seen an increase of 1.42% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.73% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering decrease of 1.15% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 59.76% in July 2021, a 6.58% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 19.19% in July 2021, marking a 20.83% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.76% in July 2021, a 9.43% growth from June 2021.

Top five travel & tourism companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 29.76% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s travel & tourism industry during July 2021 over previous month.

A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 105 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered an increase of 56.72% over the previous month, followed by DSV Panalpina with 58 jobs and a 1.75% growth. Deutsche Bahn with 41 IT jobs and FlixMobility with 33 jobs, recorded a 4.65% decline and a 65% increase, respectively, while TUI recorded a 61.11% an increase with 29 job postings during July 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s travel & tourism industry

The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 24.92% share in July 2021, a 16.54% rise over June 2021. Germany featured next with a 20.37% share, down 17.69% over the previous month. Poland recorded an 11.28% share, a growth of 1.52% compared with June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.03%, down by 5.45% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.49% share, a decline of 14.81% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.31% share, down 2.3% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.17%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
