US-based company Walt Disney’s IT hiring declined 6.9% in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 1.67% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

IT jobs claimed an 11.51% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2021, and recorded a 2.11% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Walt Disney IT hiring in August 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Walt Disney, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 62.28% in August 2021, and a 40.34% drop over July 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 15.79% in August 2021, and registered growth of 28.57%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 8.77% in August 2021, an 11.11% rise from July 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Walt Disney

North America emerged as the leading region in the global travel & tourism IT hiring activity in August 2021 with an 85.09% share, which marked a 34.46% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 12.28%, registering a 12.5% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 2.63% share and a flat growth over July 2021.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with an 85.09% share in August 2021, a 34.46% decline over July 2021. China featured next with a 7.02% share, down 20% over the previous month. France recorded a 1.75% share, an increase of 100% compared with July 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Walt Disney IT hiring activity in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.53%, down by 27.37% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 25.44% share, a decline of 36.96% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.28% share, down 46.15% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.75%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
