Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.32% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 45.45% in July 2022, registering a 56.25% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 27.27% share, an increase of 87.5% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.55%, registering a 38.46% decline from June 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.09%, down 54.55% over the previous month.

Top five travel & tourism companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 2.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s travel & tourism industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Flight Centre Travel Group posted 11 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Virgin Australia Holdings with 10 jobs and a 23.08% drop. Qantas Airways with 7 IT jobs and Lindsay Australia with 3 jobs, recorded a 22.22% decline and a 50% growth, respectively, while Experience Australia Group recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 80%, up by 10% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 10.91% share, registered an increase of 200% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.09% share, down 44.44% over June 2022.
