French hospitality company Accor has announced three signings for hospitality projects in Saudi Arabia and the redevelopment of The Mere in Cheshire, UK.
The new projects in Saudi Arabia are The Rua Al Madinah project in Madinah; a master-planned development project in Riyadh and a multi-city master development agreement with Saudi Arabia-based Amsa Hospitality.

The Rua Al Madinah project in Madinah features a 142-room Fairmont hotel and 120 Fairmont branded homes, as well as a 466-key Swissôtel and a 328-key Novotel, both of which are scheduled to open in the coming years.
In Riyadh, a new master-planned development project will see the development of a hospitality complex that includes a 230-key Raffles Hotel, a 250-key Sofitel Serviced Residence and a 60-villa MGallery resort, all of which are scheduled to open by 2027.
The company has signed a master development agreement with Amsa Hospitality, which will enable the development and franchising of 18 Accor hotels in several locations across Saudi Arabia, including Ha’il, Jubail, Al-Ula, Taif, Tabuk and Jazan, over the next ten years.
Accor and Amsa will team up to develop several of Accor’s economy and midscale brands, including ibis Styles, Mercure, Mercure Living, Novotel, Novotel Living and the recently announced Handwritten Collection, as well as act as a third-party operator by leasing and franchising the assets.

The agreement confirms Accor’s commitment to strategic growth in worldwide markets, capitalizing on the Fairmont brand’s international strength and vision and its collection of hotels worldwide.
The 157-acre resort features 81 guest rooms, an 18-hole championship golf course and wellness amenities.
Fairmont Cheshire The Mere is expected to open in the third quarter of 2024 after a thorough restoration, remodel and expansion, with 120 beds, including 27 suites.
