Marriott International is to develop the Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan/Herald Square under a management agreement with owner 960 Associates, an affiliate of real estate company Hidrock Realty.
Construction of the 168-room hotel will begin soon, with a completion date for early 2012.

David Marriott, Marriott International chief operations officer for the eastern region, said the new hotel will be the company’s seventh Courtyard by Marriott hotel in New York.
Marriott has 33 open properties in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens across nine brands.
