Situated 40 minutes from Chiang Rai International Airport, Tantawan Tented Camp is nestled in the mountains and offers ten safari-style tents.

These range from family-friendly two-bedroom options to a one-bedroom suite, each offering private bathrooms, teak furnishings, and valley views.

The camp provides a variety of activities, including trekking, cooking classes, tree-planting initiatives, and meditation sessions.

Tantawan Tented Camp aims to demonstrate Dusit’s broader Tree of Life programme, which aims to foster environmental stewardship, community engagement, and social impact, in line with selected UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Guests can also visit the Sunflower Organic Farm, which supplies the resort with farm produce, herbs, and free-range eggs.

The camp’s open-air Reu Doo Gaan restaurant serves a fusion of northern Thai cuisine and international dishes.

Dusit International chief operating officer Gilles Cretallaz said: “Managing Tantawan Tented Camp gives us a fantastic opportunity to bring the Tree of Life vision to life beyond our branded properties and showcase our commitment to having a positive impact wherever we operate.

“From sourcing food directly from the farm to providing education and training for girls and young women, this property shows how sustainability and hospitality can work hand in hand. With work experience opportunities through our educational arm, we can create transformative pathways for the next generation while offering guests an unforgettable and meaningful experience.”

The camp’s amenities include a central swimming pool surrounded by palms and wildflowers, offering mountain vistas.

Guests can also gain access to an outdoor amphitheatre, complemented by a bonfire.

Tantawan Tented Camp becomes part of Dusit’s growing portfolio of independent properties operated across Thailand such as Green Lake Resort in Chiang Mai, Seapine Beach Golf and Resort in Hua Hin, and Chainarai Riverside in Chiang Rai.

In January 2024, Dusit Hotels and Resorts, a division of Dusit International, expanded into southern Thailand with the soft opening of Dusit Princess Phatthalung.
