Global hospitality group Minor Hotels has confirmed plans to open an Anantara new-build waterfront resort in Ushuaia, Argentina.

The Anantara Ushuaia Patagonia resort, which will launch in early 2028, will be constructed within the Costa Susana master plan area close to the Tierra del Fuego National Park.

The waterfront resort is designed to include 60 guest rooms and suites, along with a wellness facility and spa at sea level, dedicated dining venues, and meeting spaces.

The project falls under a hotel management agreement with Fideicomiso Urbanización Monte Susana, an Argentinean developer comprising of two partners.

Costa Susana, the planned location for the resort, has been recognised as Argentina’s first carbon-neutral real estate development.

The development has also been chosen to participate in the World Architecture Festival’s Landscape and Environment category. This nomination marks a first for an Argentinean project in this category.

The site is accessible by a short drive from Ushuaia International Airport, which offers direct flights to Buenos Aires and other domestic destinations.

Visitors to the future resort will be able to access local attractions, including ski resorts and journeys on the End of the World Train.

Guests will also have opportunities for cruises to Antarctica and other South American ports, as well as visits to the 70,000ha Tierra del Fuego National Park.

Global hotel operator and owner Minor Hotels states that this new property will enable the company to maintain local ties while observing environmental standards linked to the wider Costa Susana scheme.

Minor Hotels recently announced plans to open a Tivoli Hotels & Resorts property in Lecce, Italy, after completing an extensive renovation.
