Hospitality group Marriott International has opened Protea Hotel and Four Points by Sheraton in Kinshasa, marking its entry into the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The addition of these properties expands the group’s footprint in Africa while increasing available accommodation and event space in Kinshasa’s business districts.

SARV Management will oversee the local management of the developments while SAMAY Hospitality SARL holds ownership of the two hotels.
SAMAY Hospitality director Karim Minsariya said: “Working with Marriott International to bring world-class hospitality to the capital supports the city’s growing appeal as a destination for business and leisure, while contributing to local employment and skills development.”
Protea Hotel by Marriott in Kinshasa is located near the Congo River in an area surrounded by government buildings, corporate offices and shopping centres.
The hotel features 88 guest rooms, including options with balconies that overlook the surroundings.

Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Kinshasa operates in the central business district and offers 134 guest rooms for visitors.
The hotel provides several facilities aimed at business and leisure travellers, including four meeting rooms covering around 230m² with audiovisual equipment.
Other services include a 24-hour fitness centre, a rooftop outdoor pool with city views, the Lufira Restaurant, and the 83 Sky Lounge Bar.
