Hospitality group IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a deal to open InterContinental luxury brand hotel in Prague, marking the brand’s return to the Czech Republic.
The 137-room luxury hotel is anticipated to open in the first half of 2029.

The property is a historic building that dates back to 1839. It has previously been used as a dance hall, theatre and office space.
Generali Real Estate manages this asset as a part of its European real estate portfolio. It will oversee a renovation project to convert the historic site into the new InterContinental Prague.
Plans for the hotel include a spa with wellness area and pool, a bar, a restaurant and Club InterContinental, the brand’s lounge concept.
The design also incorporates a private garden intended for use by guests and local visitors.

The Prague signing adds to IHG’s existing presence in the capital city, where it already operates Holiday Inn Prague Congress Centre and Holiday Inn Prague Airport.
It will join four other InterContinental-branded properties in Central and Eastern Europe, namely InterContinental Warsaw, InterContinental Sofia, InterContinental Budapest and InterContinental Athénée Palace Bucharest.
IHG currently has 34 InterContinental hotels and resorts operating in Europe.
The new Prague hotel will contribute to IHG’s wider luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Europe, which stands at 112 open hotels with a further 67 in development.
Other projects in the pipeline include Kimpton Quinta da Marinha Cascais, Six Senses Quexigal Palace, InterContinental Manchester and InterContinental Belgrade, which will reintroduce the brand to Serbia after a 20-year absence.
