The development marks the introduction of the Kimpton brand to Morocco and further extends IHG’s luxury and lifestyle operations within the country.

The site for the new hotel is located 7km from Marrakesh–Menara Airport, placing it within a 20-minute drive south of the Hivernage and Medina district.

The area provides views of the Atlas Mountains and is situated near a range of leisure amenities, including international golf courses.

Plans for Kimpton Marrakech include multiple dining facilities, a lobby lounge, a rooftop restaurant, a spa and fitness centre, and swimming pools.

Sirayane Hospitality owner and CEO Mehdi Bennani Smires said: “We are proud to partner with IHG to bring the first Kimpton hotel to Morocco. Marrakech is a global destination for luxury travel, and we look forward to developing a hotel that represents the avant-garde of luxury lifestyle hospitality in the city.”

According to IHG, Marrakech currently attracts a quarter of Morocco’s total visitor numbers, driven by continued interest from international tourists, as well as government investment in tourism infrastructure.

It remains an important tourism hub for Morocco, known for its historic sites and role as an access point to the Atlas Mountains.

IHG continues to develop hotels across various market segments in support of Morocco’s tourism sector growth.

IHG Hotels & Resorts India, Middle East and Africa managing director Haitham Mattar said: “We are delighted to partner with Sirayane Hospitality to introduce the Kimpton brand to Marrakech, Morocco, a destination celebrated for its cultural richness, design heritage, and growing luxury tourism sector.

“Sirayane Hospitality’s strong local expertise makes them the perfect partner for this milestone opening.”

Established in 1981, the Kimpton brand operates globally across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

In September, the brand debuted in the Middle East with a 212-room property in Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Financial District.
