The upcoming resort will provide 100 guest rooms, including standard rooms and suites.

Facilities at the property will include an all-day dining restaurant, a tea lounge, meeting rooms, a banquet hall, a conference room, and a business lounge.

Additional amenities, such as a spa, a fitness centre, and an infinity swimming pool, are planned as part of the overall offering.

Kalimpong is situated in the Eastern Himalayas and is recognised for its location near tourism circuits in the region.

The destination has experienced steady demand from weekend travellers and holidaymakers seeking alternatives to more crowded hill stations.

The town’s proximity to major routes enhances its position as a leisure destination for both local residents and visitors.

Radisson has partnered with West Bengal-based company Gajbadan Tradewing for the development of the resort.

Gajbadan Tradewing director Rohit Gupta said: “This partnership with Radisson Hotel Group marks an important milestone for our project in Kalimpong.

“By collaborating with an internationally recognised brand, we aim to create a resort that will elevate the tourism landscape of Kalimpong while offering world-class service and facilities to travellers.”

Radisson Hotel Group’s move reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen its portfolio in emerging leisure destinations across India.

Radisson Hotel Group South Asia managing director and COO Nikhil Sharma said: “Kalimpong represents a compelling opportunity as an underpenetrated leisure market with strong long-term potential.

“Being the first internationally branded hotel in the destination reflects our consistent first-mover strategy of entering emerging markets early and shaping their hospitality landscape with trusted global brands.”

Radisson recently began a worldwide expansion of its Verified Net Zero Hotels (VNZ) programme and plans to certify 100 hotels under this initiative by 2030.
