IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with Newhope Real Estate to launch the Regent brand in Chengdu, the capital of China’s Sichuan province.
According to an IHG statement, the deal marks Regent’s first entry into the city and adds to its expanding presence in Greater China.

The hotel will be located in the Jinjiang District, occupying floors 39 to 48 of a 233m tower. It will offer 180 guest rooms and suites, all offering views of the city skyline and the Jinjiang River.
Planned facilities at the property will include multiple dining outlets and a dedicated spa sanctuary.
Regent Chengdu is planned to open in the third quarter of 2029.

In Greater China, Regent runs six hotels across Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taipei, with additional projects in the pipeline.
Regent was established in 1970 and became part of IHG in 2018.
The brand currently operates 11 properties worldwide, with a total of 3,212 rooms. A further 12 hotels and resorts, comprising 2,210 rooms, are under development.
