Mews has unveiled three additions to its hospitality operating system, aiming to capture revenue at every guest touchpoint.

The new features, namely Recurring Payments, Multicurrency for the US and Canada, and Accounts Receivable, are intended to support hotel income collection and cash flow before arrival, during stay and after checkout.

According to the tech vendor, the releases respond to payment and invoicing issues faced by hotels and aim to reduce manual processes and support revenue collection.

Recurring Payments is designed for properties with extended stays, co-working areas or membership services, where late or missed payments can affect income.

The feature is available worldwide and allows hotels to set a payment schedule once, after which collections are processed automatically.

Mews said more than 100 properties have already tested the tool, creating over 16,000 payment plans.

The company also outlined the role of currency conversion fees in international transactions. When guests pay in their own currency, those fees have typically gone to banks.

Mews said Multicurrency enables hotels to keep a share of that fee.

It noted that, since the feature was introduced across Europe 14 months ago, close to 5,000 hotels have generated a combined €1.55m ($1.77m) in extra revenue through Multicurrency.

For properties that have used Multicurrency for at least three months, Mews said more than half have produced enough revenue to cover some of their subscription costs, with median offsets of between 2% and 10%.

Multicurrency is already available in Europe for online and in-person transactions and is now being extended to the US and Canada for online payments.

In-person payments in those markets are expected to follow.

Accounts Receivable is currently available to properties in markets operating in Euros. Other currencies are due to be added in a phased rollout later in 2027.

The feature automates invoice issuing, payment reminders, collection and reconciliation within the operating system, and provides finance teams with real-time visibility over paid, pending and overdue balances.

Mews fintech general manager Susanne Sandler said: “Mews has always been built around one goal: giving hoteliers the best possible platform to run and grow their business. Recurring Payments, Multicurrency and Accounts Receivable are further exemplification of that – helping hotels grow revenue and accelerate cashflow collection.”
