Hospitality company Strawberry will assume responsibility for running the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bodø, Norway, on 1 January 2027 under a lease agreement with Pandox.

The hotel will be rebranded as Clarion Hotel Bodø before joining Strawberry’s portfolio.

Its shared areas are also due to be renovated, with a new gym planned as part of the changes.

Strawberry owner Petter A Stordalen said: “Bodø is a priority area for us and a city with fantastic development. The city has huge potential and, with the right moves, could become as popular as Tromsø.

“By offering different types of experiences to different types of guests and different types of trips, Strawberry will help increase its appeal both nationally and internationally. This will be our second Clarion Hotel in Northern Norway, rounding out our offering in Bodø.”

The 13-storey hotel has 191 guest rooms and suites.

Its facilities include a sky bar on the top floor and space for conferences with capacity of up to 700 people.

There are up to 17 meeting rooms, including boardrooms and banqueting areas.

Clarion Hotel Norway operations director Jannica Landmark-Rosén said: “It’s going to be incredibly exciting to be part of rebranding the hotel as Clarion Hotel Bodø and expanding our offering to guests.

“We’re also delighted to finally be able to introduce Clarion Hotel to Bodø and Nordland, and together with our sister hotels in the city we can attract larger conferences, trade fairs and events that will give Bodø a boost.”

The agreement adds to Strawberry’s existing operations in Bodø, which include Home Hotel Grand Bodø, Comfort Hotel Bodø, Quality Hotel Ramsalt and Wood Hotel.

Last month, Strawberry said it will take over the operation of Hotel Giò in Solna, Sweden, in late 2026. The company will assume the role from YMCA Central (KFUM Central), which runs sports, music and camp activities for 3,000 young people.
