The arrangement is HE’s first project in Uruguay and extends the company’s Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) footprint into South America.

Via its Ennismore division and the SLS brand, Accor will continue to oversee the property’s brand positioning, design standards and overall guest experience.

As agreed, HE CALA will be responsible for daily operations and the financial performance of the hotel. Its role will go beyond managing guestrooms to include the Wellness & Longevity Center and a broad food and beverage offering.

Planned amenities at the property include several dining concepts, rooftop and pool bars, as well as event and cocktail spaces.

Specific brands and concepts for these facilities are expected to be announced in the coming months.

HE will also run the rental programme for residence owners at SLS Punta del Este who want to generate income when units are not in personal use.

Hotel Equities CALA president Juan Corvinos said: “We see Punta del Este as one of South America’s fastest-growing hospitality markets, and Uruguay is a natural next step for our CALA platform.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the visionaries at GNV Group who were seeking an operator to deliver global standards with local execution and that’s what our in-market HE CALA model is built for.

“Our experience operating luxury lifestyle and residential-style hotels across the region gives us a clear understanding of what today’s discerning traveller expects.

“Working together, we’re bringing Accor’s global platform and our proven operational discipline, which has driven results across the Caribbean, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico, to SLS Punta del Este.”
