July 2021 has seen decrease of 0.19% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.82% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering decrease of 0.01% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 66.4% in July 2021, a 13.99% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 14.15% in July 2021, marking a 28.57% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 11.59% in July 2021, a 5.36% growth from June 2021.

Top five travel & tourism companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 1.9% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s travel & tourism industry during July 2021 over previous month.
A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 80 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a an increase of 40.35% over the previous month, followed by Genting with 75 jobs and a 2.6% drop. Genting Group with 47 IT jobs and Uber Technologies with 39 jobs, recorded a 35.62% decline and a 14.71% increase, respectively, while Tabcorp Holdings recorded a 22.73% an increase with 27 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s travel & tourism industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 32.22% share in July 2021, a 15.49% rise over June 2021. Malaysia featured next with a 24.36% share, down 18.95% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 15.52% share, a growth of 8.22% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.94%, down by 22.88% from June 2021. Entry Level positions with a 23.58% share, a growth of 51.9% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 17.49% share, up 7.23% over June 2021.
