Everyone in the hospitality industry will be able to name many examples of world-class service and true innovation. That’s why we are launching the European Hospitality Awards 2010 this summer; we want these awards to recognise the establishments, companies and the people that make the guest experience the very best it can possibly be.
To do this, we have assembled an esteemed panel of judges. Johanna Fragano, Franka Holtmann, Patrick Reardon, Claus Sendlinger, Ted Teng and Herbert Ypma are eagerly looking forward to receiving your entries.
This year we’re looking for the best spa, the best interior design, the best in-room innovation, leisure and fitness and interior design innovation, the best restaurant, and the most environmentally conscious hotel. On the people side, we want to find the best concierge and the hotelier of the year. Finally, one hotel will be awarded the coveted title of Hotel of the Year.
Nominations are already coming in. For instance, in contention in the Hotel Restaurant of the Year and the Hotel Interior Design of the Year categories is the Boundary Hotel, Restaurant, Bar and Café in East London. Opened in January 2009 and located in a converted 19th century warehouse, this joint venture between Terence and Vicki Conran and Peter Prescott has won rave reviews around the
world.
Competing for the title of Hotel Spa of the Year is La Réserve Ramatuelle, whose 13 treatment rooms, two pools and hammam overlook the beauty of the Mediterranean close to St Tropez in France. La Réserve is also nominated in the Hotelier of the Year category. The Grand Majestic Plaza hotel in Prague is another of our contenders in the Hotel Interior Design of the Year category. This four-star hotel, part of the WORLDHOTELS chain, offers 196 design rooms, including six luxury suites. A centrepiece water fountain sets a special atmosphere for arriving guests.
Now is the time to send in your nominations. There is no limit to the number of nominations you can submit on behalf of your own hotel or company. The awards are open to all new hotels, new developments in existing hotels and new innovations brought to the market between June 2008 and May 2010. Judging takes place in May and the winners will be announced to Hotel Management International senior executives and decision makers in a special European Hospitality Awards edition in June. We look forward to receiving your nominations soon.
