June 2022 has seen a decrease of 6.19% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 6.39% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering an increase of 0.09% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 62.27% in June 2022, a 19.17% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.91% in June 2022, marking a 9.09% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.77% in June 2022, a 43.42% drop from May 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 1.09% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s travel & tourism industry during June 2022 over previous month.
The Walt Disney posted 116 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 118.87% over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 67 jobs and a 22.99% drop. Capital A with 43 IT jobs and Booking Holdings with 31 jobs, recorded a 12.24% drop and a 58.11% drop, respectively, while New Zealand Post recorded a 25% increase with 15 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s travel & tourism industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 55.91% share in June 2022, a 1.23% increase over May 2022. Malaysia featured next with an 11.36% share, down 37.5% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 10.23% share, a drop of 2.17% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.55%, down by 31.59% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.45% share, registered a growth of 15.46% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.32% share, down 19.23% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.68%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
