IT jobs accounted for a 3.38% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in December 2021, registering an increase of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in December 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 63.64% in December 2021, a 55.56% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 13.64% in December 2021, marking a 50% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.09% in December 2021, a flat growth from November 2021.

Top five travel & tourism companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 240% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s travel & tourism industry during December 2021 over previous month.
A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 8 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered an increase of 60% over the previous month, followed by Uber Technologies with 4 jobs and a flat growth. TripAdvisor with 3 IT jobs and United Parcel Service with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while CWT recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during December 2021.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 22.73% share in December 2021, a flat growth over November 2021. Panama featured next with a 22.73% share, up 66.67% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded an 18.18% share, a growth of 300% compared with November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.82%, up by 50% from November 2021. Entry Level positions with an 18.18% share, registered a growth of 100% compared with the previous month.
