Fujita Kanko has reopened its Hakone Kowakien Hotel in Hakone, a hot springs destination in Japan, after being rebuilt.

The previous hotel, which is surrounded by Lake Ashinoko and Mount Fuji, was opened in 1959 and closed in 2018.

The newly rebuilt Hakone Kowakien Hotel is a 150-room modern resort that has been designed for all generations, specifically for families with children.

It features large hot spring baths (indoor and outdoor), one of which is on the top floor, an outdoor pool (summer only) and seven private hot spring baths.

The resort comprises six types of guestrooms including casual twin rooms, Western-style rooms, Japanese-style rooms, universal design rooms and deluxe rooms.

All the rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, an electric kettle digital terrestrial satellite, a safety deposit box, a television and a chair and table.

Hakone Kowakien Hotel also boasts a restaurant, a kids’ space and a multi-function room, which serves as a co-working space.

The company noted that the guests staying at Hakone Kowakien Hotel will have unlimited free access to Yunessun, a popular hot spring theme park, as well as Mori no Yu, another hot spring facility on the compound.

Known for multiple fun-themed hot spring baths, Yunessun was also reopened after completing massive renovations/updates. It includes new functions/zones including an outdoor zone and an amusement zone with AR gaming, a food court and shops.

In 2021, Fujita Kanko opened Hotel Gracery Taipei in the capital city of Taiwan.
