
The Dogus Group has acquired the Aldrovandi Villa Borghese Hotel at the edge of Villa Borghese in Rome.
The Dogus Holding Group secured a 100% share in the 19th century ivory villa from its previous owners, the Ossani family.
Located in the green Borghese gardens, the five-star hotel is the sixth to be added to the Dogus Luxury Hotel collection.
The Aldrovandi Villa Borghese Hotel is within walking distance of the Modern Art and Borghese Gallery, as well as Valle Giulia. It is also close to Rome’s city centre, the Via Condotti , Via del Babuino and from Piazza del Popolo.
At the end of 2016, the hotel will upgrade its facilities in accordance with first-class hospitality standards.
A new urban resort concept will also be incorporated in the renovation plans.

It holds a place in the Condé Nast Travellers Gold list along with Capri Palace Hotel & Spa in Italy, the first property acquired by Dogus, as well as Villa Dubrovnik in Croatia, and D-Hotel Maris D-Hotel Maris in Turkey.
The 102-room hotel features 19 suites and junior suites, two bars and restaurants, an outdoor heated swimming pool, nine meeting rooms, and a banquet hall.
The name of the hotel is a combination of Via Ulisse Aldrovandi, a street named after Italian naturalist Ulisse Aldrovandi, and the name of the adjacent Villa Borghese gardens.
