Japan is to unveil a new Godzilla-themed accommodation, Hotel Gracery, in Tokyo.

Said to be located in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, the 30-storey Hotel Gracery is expected to open its doors on April 24 and is said to be centred around a market research claiming Godzilla could serve as a major tourist attraction.

"This Godzilla head is part of our strategy for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics when many foreign tourists will visit and we want to provide the best experience to them."

The Godzilla-themed Hotel Gracery has a new look dedicated to the mutant reptile that destroyed the city in the film Toho initially and other remakes over the years.

The toilets inside the hotel are also Godzilla themed, with the hotel rooms full of memorabilia. The top of the hotel features the monster’s head that sticks out.

The hotel is located on the top of the Shinjuku’s Toho Cinema, where fans can also watch various Godzilla films.

On weekdays, the rooms are priced at around £200 and on public holidays and weekends at around £300.

Hotel Gracery spokesman Eigo Ueda told the Daily Mail: "This Godzilla head is part of our strategy for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics when many foreign tourists will visit and we want to provide the best experience to them. What better way than to appeal to tourists with a giant Godzilla figure."
