Club Med has signed a hotel management agreement with Central Group Capital for a new Exclusive Collection resort in Koh Samui, Thailand.

The planned property will become the first Exclusive Collection resort by Club Med in Thailand, and its second location in the country, following the opening of Club Med Phuket in 1985.

It will also be the third in the East and South Asia Pacific region.

Situated a 25-minute drive from Koh Samui Airport, the upcoming resort will provide 303 rooms and more than 200 metres of private beachfront.

Club Med has stated that the facility will include varied sports and leisure amenities, updated facilities, several new dining concepts, and signature Club Med schemes such as the Kids Club and Amazing Family.

The company expects to open the resort in the second half of 2028, with reservation details to be announced at a later date.

The project was unveiled at Club Med Kiroro Peak, Japan, in the presence of Club Med president and CEO Stéphane Maquaire, Club Med ESAP CEO Rachael Harding, and Central Group Capital managing partner and co-head Soravit Chairoj.

Maquaire said: “This exceptional beachfront property marks an exciting expansion of our portfolio. It strengthens our leadership in premium all-inclusive travel while supporting sustainable destination growth and local communities.”

Chairoj said: “We strongly believe in Thailand's global appeal, with Koh Samui among our top destinations. This redevelopment maximises its prime beachfront and natural setting.”

Club Med’s Exclusive Collection currently represents 13% of its global capacity, consisting of 21 properties that include resorts, villas, chalets, and a sailing yacht.

Club Med operates more than 60 Premium and Exclusive Collection resorts across 25 countries.

In August 2025, Club Med, in partnership with Indonesian hospitality developer PT Grahatama Kreasi Baru (GKB), signed a hotel management agreement for a new resort in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
