Indian hospitality chain Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has signed for its latest property, Anamore Select Resort & Wellness, in Mopa, Goa.

A 15-minute drive from Mopa Airport and with direct access from the Goa-Mumbai Highway, the luxury resort will boast 150 villa rooms.

This move is said to be the hospitality chain's expansion into the upscale segment, diversifying its portfolio beyond the mid-market sector in India.

Cygnett Hotels & Resorts founder and managing director Sarbendra Sarkar said: “Our vision for Anamore is bold and forward-looking. We aim to redefine the future of luxury travel in India.

“Having successfully established 10-12 hotels in the mid-segment market annually across the country in the past, we are confident in replicating this success in the upscale market with Anamore too. There are five more Anamore properties in the pipeline in destinations including Karjat, Murud, Khalapur (Maharashtra), Srinagar (Uttarakhand) and Pushkar (Rajasthan).”

For this inaugural project under the Anamore brand, the business partnered with real estate company Yugen Infra, a joint venture between Timespro Consulting and V K Developers.

It will be housed in the “largest” golf course township in Goa, against the backdrop of the Western Ghats.

The resort's facilities will feature an all-day dining restaurant, bar, a 10,000ft² lawn, a 6,000ft² banquet hall and meeting spaces, a swimming pool, a health club, a children's play area, and a clubhouse.

Additionally, the resort will have a wellness wing, Bluum Mudra by Ayurvyaas, for travellers seeking rejuvenation-focused experiences.
