A Hyatt Hotels affiliate has signed a management agreement with Shah Lagoo Properties for a new hotel in Sangli in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

The Hyatt Place brand hotel will form part of SL Highstreet, a mixed-use development that also includes office and retail spaces.

The planned hotel will offer 115 guestrooms and amenities such as 24/7 dining facilities, a swimming pool, and a fitness centre.

The venue will also include event spaces suitable for meetings and conferences.

Shah Lagoo Properties partner Akshay Shah said: “Our association with Hyatt to develop Hyatt Place Kolhapur Sangli is a proud moment for us and aligns with our vision to establish a world-class commercial and hospitality destination in Sangli.

“We are confident that this hotel will set new benchmarks for quality and service in the region, and we look forward to creating a modern, welcoming experience for travellers and businesses alike.”

The new hotel is the latest addition to Hyatt’s portfolio in India, as the company continues to grow its presence in areas marked by increased business activity.

Hyatt Place hotels provide round-the-clock conveniences and services aimed at travellers who require flexible arrangements.

Hyatt India & Southwest Asia development vice president Dhruva Rathore said: “The signing of Hyatt Place Kolhapur Sangli aligns with Hyatt’s strategy to thoughtfully grow our brand presence in India’s secondary cities, delivering high-quality hospitality experiences in underserved yet fast-developing markets.

“As the first internationally branded hotel planned for this region, Hyatt Place Kolhapur Sangli will bring our signature comfort, convenience, and care to Sangli.”

Hyatt’s portfolio extends to more than1,450 hotels and all-inclusive properties across 80 countries on six continents.

The company operates several brands within its luxury segment and maintains more than 440 Hyatt Place locations globally.

Hyatt recently entered into an agreement with a hotel booking solutions provider Groups360 to launch an instant group booking platform aimed at meeting and event organisers.
