The Yukawa will feature 11 guest rooms, each with its own terrace and private open-air hot spring bath.

Ichijoh Ryokan in Japan has revealed the upcoming launch of its new resort hotel, The Yukawa, scheduled for 2 September 2025.

This newly built property will be situated on the Ichijoh family's ancestral land near Kamasaki Onsen's mountains and rivers in Miyagi Prefecture.

The Yukawa will feature 11 guest rooms, each with its own terrace and private open-air hot spring bath.

The property will also offer a variety of suites, including the exclusive river view Yukawa suite and river view panorama suite, each with one room, as well as the river view villa suite with three rooms and the river view suite with six rooms.

The resort will also provide a private dining room with a terrace and a lobby lounge.

The Yukawa establishment has evolved from a therapeutic spa into a conventional onsen ryokan, and it has now transitioned to operate as a resort hotel.

This marks a transformation for the property, which originally was an inn established 500 years ago by the Ichijoh family's ancestor, a noble from the Imperial Court in Kyoto.

The Ichijoh Branch, which was located near Shiroishi Station, served travellers for more than a hundred years until its closure approximately 40 years ago.

This hotel will prepare all meals on-site, offering guests the option to dine in private dining rooms or on the terrace of their room with views of the river.
