Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has expanded its presence in Bhutan with the opening of Taj Paro Resort & Spa.
The 45-key resort is located in the Paro valley beneath the Tiger’s Nest Monastery.
The property combines modern amenities with Bhutanese design. It features mountain-facing rooms offering Himalayan views.
Dining options at the resort include the Paro Lounge & Bar, which serves signature cocktails and Bhutanese wines, and Vista, an all-day dining restaurant offering both regional and international dishes.
Guests can also access an indoor heated swimming pool, the J Wellness Circle spa, and a fitness centre.
IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: “In line with our strategy of growing our footprint in the Indian Sub-Continent we are delighted to announce the opening of Taj Paro Resort & Spa. The eternal charm of the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan makes it among one of the world’s most sought-after travel destinations.
“This addition strengthens our over two-decade strong partnership with the CG Hospitality Global, a member of the CG Corp Global, with a portfolio of hotels across the Middle East, Greater Himalayan and Indian Ocean region.”
CG Corp Global chairman Binod Chaudhary said: “We are proud of CG Hospitality’s enduring partnership with Tata Group’s IHCL, a collaboration that has flourished for over 25 years. This launch is reflective of the confidence and trust we place in IHCL’s century-old legacy, which continues to be globally recognised as the benchmark of Indian hospitality.”
In September, Amã Stays & Trails, a homestay initiative by IHCL, launched its 150th bungalow, Anand Bhawan Palace, in Tirwa, Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh.
