Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed a new Ginger hotel in Satara, Maharashtra.

This greenfield project is strategically situated within the Satara Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) zone.

The property will feature 125 keys and will be designed to serve the needs of both business and leisure guests, with amenities such as an all-day restaurant, a gym and a conference hall.

IHCL real estate and development executive vice-president Suma Venkatesh stated: “Satara’s convergence of education, healthcare and business attracts a steady stream of demand, making it an ideal fit for Ginger’s expansion.

“This signing is in line with IHCL’s approach to expanding its brandscape into such high-potential markets. We are delighted to partner with Ms Vedantika Raje Bhonsle for this project.”

The hotel aims to enhance the hospitality landscape of Satara, a district known for its scenic and cultural attractions.

Satara features a well-established MIDC and is home to companies spanning various sectors, including paper, paints and consumer goods.

Real estate developer Vedantika Raje Bhonsle said: “We are pleased to partner with IHCL to bring Ginger to Satara. This development significantly contributes to the city’s growing infrastructure and hospitality landscape.”

With the inclusion of the new property, IHCL's portfolio in Maharashtra will have 43 hotels, of which 16 are currently under development.

Earlier this month, IHCL entered an agreement with the hospitality platform Madison to expand the Ginger brand in Southern India.
