Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has confirmed an agreement to develop a new resort under the Taj brand in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan.

To be constructed as a greenfield project, the planned 75-room resort will include suites and villas, each with features such as private courtyards and plunge pools.

The amenities will comprise an all-day dining venue, a dedicated restaurant, a bar, and a lounge tailored for safari guests.

The resort’s facilities will also extend to meeting areas, a swimming pool, a spa, a fitness centre, and a salon.

The project will be developed in collaboration with Vanivinayak Hospitality, a Jaipur-based group that manages real estate development and housing schemes across various cities in Rajasthan.

Vanivinayak Hospitality partners Vibhishek Singh and Abhishek Pal Singh said: “We are excited to collaborate with IHCL to bring a luxury wildlife resort to Sawai Madhopur. This partnership marks a milestone in our journey to promote sustainable tourism in the region.”

IHCL indicated that the resort will follow its Paathya environmental framework by implementing solar power, rainwater harvesting, and using locally sourced sustainable materials during construction and operation.

Sawai Madhopur serves as the access point to Ranthambore National Park, which is a wildlife destination in the region.

IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: “Having pioneered tourism in Rajasthan, IHCL has positioned the state on the global tourism map with its portfolio of landmark hotels showcasing the region’s cultural richness.

“The enhanced connectivity to Sawai Madhopur is opening up new avenues for hospitality, making it Ranthambore National Park increasingly accessible to discerning travellers. We are delighted to partner with Vanivinayak Hospitality for this exciting new venture.”

IHCL currently manages a global network of 570 hotels, with 302 more properties planned across multiple countries and continents.

Last month, the hotel operator launched a new hotel in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, as part of its SeleQtions boutique brand.
