IHG Hotels & Resorts and Club Chaulani have reached management agreement for Holiday Inn property in Dhangadhi, Nepal.

The 115-room hotel is slated to open in the first quarter (Q1) of 2028, marking IHG’s debut in Sudurpashchim Province and supporting its strategy to grow in high-potential, under-served South Asian markets.

Holiday Inn Dhangadhi will sit at the heart of a mixed-use development, roughly 8.5km from Dhangadhi Airport.

Close to the India–Nepal border, the property is expected to draw business travellers, government officials, and transit guests, along with leisure visitors heading to nearby attractions such as Shuklaphanta National Park, Ghodaghodi Lake, and the Shivpuri Temple.

IHG Hotels & Resorts South West Asia managing director Sudeep Jain said: “Dhangadhi represents an emerging hospitality market with strong fundamentals driven by improving infrastructure, cross-border trade, and rising domestic travel.

“The signing of Holiday Inn Dhangadhi reflects our confidence in the city’s growth potential. The hotel will cater precisely to this growth, serving both the rising domestic travel segment and regional business traffic, ensuring strong returns for our partners at Club Chaulani.”

The property will offer four food and beverage venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a poolside bar, and a specialty dining option.

Meeting and event facilities will comprise flexible function rooms and a ballroom.

Additional guest amenities will include a fully equipped fitness centre and a swimming pool.

Club Chaulani chairman Dr Rajendra K.C said: “We are pleased to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts to introduce the Holiday Inn brand to Dhangadhi. As the city continues to grow as a commercial and tourism gateway in western Nepal, there is a clear opportunity for high-quality branded hospitality.

“We look forward to delivering a welcoming and reliable stay experience backed by IHG’s global expertise and strong brand standards.”

As of now, IHG runs 51 hotels in India across six brands and has 80 more properties in the pipeline set to open over the next three to five years.

Earlier this month, IHG revealed plans to introduce the Vignette Collection brand to Malaysia with the signing of the Mangala Estate resort in Kuantan.
