IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement for four additional hotels in Italy,  taking its combined open and pipeline portfolio in the country to more than 50 properties.

The latest signings cover both urban and leisure destinations and comprise Crowne Plaza Milan NoLo, Staybridge Suites Milan NoLo, Hotel Indigo Apulia Alberobello and Garner Hotel Turin Porta Nuova.

In Milan, IHG plans a dual‑branded complex in the NoLo district through the conversion and rebranding of an existing property into Crowne Plaza Milan NoLo and Staybridge Suites Milan NoLo.

The Reinvest-owned project is expected to provide 167 rooms under the Crowne Plaza flag and 96 apartments under Staybridge Suites, with both hotels scheduled to open in January 2027.

The dual‑brand hotel will also mark the debut of the Staybridge Suites brand in Milan, and expand IHG’s Crowne Plaza presence in the city. The property will include multiple restaurants and bars, a pool, fitness facilities and eight meeting rooms.

In Puglia, Hotel Indigo Apulia Alberobello is being developed as a 129‑room property owned by AG Group, with an opening planned for 2028.

In Turin, IHG will bring the Garner brand to the city with Garner Hotel Turin Porta Nuova, a conversion of a centrally located 57‑room property. The hotel is slated to open in mid‑2027 under a franchise agreement with Gruppo Stay.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Europe development vice-president Willemijn Geels said: “Reaching this milestone of over 50 open and pipeline hotels reflects the incredible momentum we have in Italy and the growing confidence owners have in our brands and enterprise.

“Italy is one of Europe's most dynamic hospitality markets, and we see significant opportunity to continue scaling across both key cities and high-quality leisure destinations.”

Across Italy, IHG currently operates 32 hotels under eight brands, with a further 20 properties in its development pipeline.

Earlier this month, IHG announced that it will open its first Indigo-branded hotel in Sweden with a planned property in Stockholm.
