IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered an agreement with JH Group to grow its voco brand in Australia’s Northern Territory.

The upcoming voco Darwin Suites will be located in the centre of Darwin’s business district.

Set to open later this year, the new 87-room property will be developed from an old commercial office building. It will offer various facilities, including a restaurant open all day, meeting areas, a fitness centre, and an outdoor pool.

Located near the Darwin Entertainment Centre, guests will have easy access to nearby attractions such as Crocosaurus Cove.

The hotel's rooms will all include kitchenettes, making it suitable for both short and long stays.

This setup is designed to meet the needs of both leisure tourists and business travellers.

Voco Darwin Suites will join the growing list of voco properties under IHG’s management in the region.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Australasia and Pacific development director Cameron Burke said: “We’re thrilled to welcome John Halikos and the JH Group to our IHG community, as together we bring the voco hotels brand to Darwin in a landmark agreement that marks a significant milestone in our regional growth strategy.

“The rapid expansion of our voco brand through voco Darwin Suites and many other outstanding properties continues to be driven by its adaptable upscale proposition, appealing to owners seeking both asset versatility and flexibility in the market.

“By leveraging IHG’s extensive distribution channels, including our IHG One Rewards loyalty programme, we are wholly focused on optimising performance for the benefit of our owners. This powerful combination made voco an ideal choice for JH Group and we’re looking forward to supporting its ambition to create a distinctive lean-lifestyle presence in the Darwin market.”

IHG Hotels & Resorts runs 69 hotels across Australasia under nine brands, with 26 more in the pipeline.
