IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has signed an agreement with local hospitality company Chok Deesuk to launch Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang in Thailand.

The 158-key property will be converted and put through a full rebranding programme before its planned opening later this year.

After the rebranding, it will operate under IHG’s Holiday Inn Express banner.

The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, pool bar, swimming pool and fitness centre. It will also offer convenient access to several of the area’s main tourist attractions.

Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang will be the first Holiday Inn Express in Thailand, and the second property in Southeast Asia, to adopt the brand’s latest Generation 5 (Gen 5) design.

The signing extends IHG’s existing relationship with the owner, which also holds the nearby Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach.

Chok Deesuk chief business development officer Peeranat Deechaisatetha said: “We are pleased to expand our partnership with IHG through the signing of Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang.

“Our strong collaboration at Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach has reinforced our confidence in IHG’s brands, and its ability to drive results.

“The addition of Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang complements our existing resort offering and allows us to cater to a broader range of travellers visiting the destination.”

IHG said the addition of Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang supports its expansion across Thailand. The group currently operates 42 hotels across 11 brands in the country, with a pipeline of 39 additional properties.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Thailand Development director Pathana Jitsaereetham said: “We are delighted to strengthen our collaboration with Chok Deesuk through this signing.

“Building on our existing partnership, this latest agreement reflects the confidence owners continue to place in IHG’s brands, commercial expertise and ability to deliver long-term value.

“The conversion of this property to Holiday Inn Express reflects the growing appeal of conversions in Thailand, where conversion signings accounted for nearly 40% of signed keys in 2025.”
