IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury & lifestyle portfolio brand InterContinental has launched a luxury resort in Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Vietnam.
The InterContinental Halong Bay resort features 275 rooms, suites, and villas. Other facilities include six restaurants and bars, spaces for children’s activities, a spa, ballrooms, and meeting rooms.
WATG led the resort architecture, and the interior design was managed by P49Deesign.
InterContinental Halong Bay Resort general manager Jesper Larsen said: “InterContinental has been hosting guests for almost 80 years in every corner of the world. We are incredibly proud to extend this ethos to the shores of Ha Long Bay, an area famed for some of Vietnam’s best beaches. InterContinental Halong Bay Resort is a place where the serenity of the sea meets with Vietnamese hospitality.”
Additional amenities feature the Planet Trekkers club for children. The Game Room includes a cinema, internet gaming and other games such as billiards, darts, foosball, and air hockey. The event venues include Tonkin and Cat Ba ballrooms.
With this opening, InterContinental increases its global portfolio to more than 231 InterContinental hotels worldwide, including seven properties in Vietnam.
IHG currently operates over one million rooms across approximately 6,800 hotels in more than 100 countries. The company reports a development pipeline that exceeds 2,300 additional properties.
