Global hospitality group Hyatt Hotels has signed an agreement for a second JdV by Hyatt brand hotel, The Landmark Kanpur, in India.
Set to open in early 2026, the hotel is owned by Som Datt Landmark Hotels and Recreations.
Hyatt Real Estate & Development India and South West Asia vice-president Dhruva Rathore said: “We're thrilled to welcome The Landmark Kanpur to the JdV by Hyatt family.
“This association reflects our commitment to collaborating with exceptional local operators to deliver unique guest experiences in promising markets. Building on The Landmark's esteemed legacy in Kanpur, we're excited to take this property to new heights.”
The property will offer 170 rooms, four dining options, a spa, and event facilities, including a 7,200ft² lawn on the 21st floor that can accommodate both business and social events.
According to the company, The Landmark Kanpur is undergoing restoration to align with the operational and design requirements of the JdV by Hyatt brand.
Som Datt Landmark Hotels and Recreations managing director Vikas Malhotra said: “As Kanpur’s first and only five-star hotel, The Landmark has long been a pioneer in the city’s hospitality landscape. Collaborating with Hyatt and joining the JdV by Hyatt brand marks an exciting new chapter – one that takes this legacy to new heights by bringing global standards of service while retaining our deep local roots.”
This addition is intended to provide an option for travellers and groups seeking alternative modern accommodation in Kanpur.
Through developments such as The Landmark Kanpur, Hyatt continues to expand its presence in commercial and industrial centres across India, seeking to enhance access for travellers to its lifestyle hotel offerings.
Ronil Goa is the first JdV by Hyatt brand hotel in India, which opened in 2024, while the brand debuted in Alaska, US, in June.
