Hospitality and travel-focused platform Lighthouse has introduced a new AI-driven feature that automatically adjusts pricing and distribution across booking channels for independent hotels.
Called Smart Distribution, the new addition to the Lighthouse commercial platform aims to address a common challenge for independent hotels, manual distribution management, which is time-consuming and often ineffective.
In many cases, hotels either spend significant time with limited results or avoid active distribution management, which can result in higher online travel agent (OTA) commissions and lost revenue.
Smart Distribution is designed to apply pricing changes across channels without manual intervention. It publishes public rates to all channels and uses AI to analyse market conditions.
The feature enables rates to propagate to all channels continuously, with confirmation that pricing matches across channels.
Lighthouse noted that rates are compared with competitor prices across channels and adjusted automatically to maintain market position.
Based on that analysis, the company recommends “length-of-stay restrictions, channel closures, and rate offsets” intended to increase profit.
Rate offsets for specific channels steer bookings toward lower-cost channels when market data allows.
Lighthouse also stated that minimum stay rules and channel closures are recommended by analysing market conditions, and occupancy or performance data to target higher profit per booking.
Independent Hotels senior vice-president Vincent Goemaere said: “Smart Distribution helps independent hotels take back control of their revenue.
“It replaces time-consuming manual updates and costly guesswork with AI-powered smart decisions, driving more direct bookings, reducing admin burden, improving revenue performance, and building a healthier, more profitable channel mix.”
Lighthouse currently supports more than 85,000 hospitality properties in 185 countries.
