Marriott International has announced the conversion of two hotels in Lima, Peru, adding them to its luxury brand portfolio, with both properties expected for completion in 2028.

The company will introduce the Ritz-Carlton, Lima in Miraflores following the conversion of the present JW Marriott Hotel Lima.

Concurrently, the business plans to open a new JW Marriott Hotel Lima at the site of the current Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center in Paseo Begonias, San Isidro.

Once established, the Ritz-Carlton, Lima will mark the brand’s second location in South America.

The Ritz-Carlton brand currently manages more than ten hotels in destinations such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, and the Caribbean. The new Lima property will further expand the brand’s presence in the region.

The repositioned JW Marriott Hotel Lima in San Isidro aligns with Marriott International’s initiative to grow its luxury portfolio.

Marriott has indicated that the new location is intended to strengthen its offering for business and convention travellers in the city’s commercial district.

Marriott International Central and South America regional vice-president Walter Regidor said: “The transformation of the two properties represents a milestone for the evolution of hospitality in Lima and reinforces the city’s growing presence on the global travel map as a dynamic urban centre.

"As travellers look beyond traditional luxury markets, Lima stands out for its cultural richness, culinary leadership, and vibrant urban energy.”

Paseo Begonias, the planned site for the new JW Marriott Hotel Lima, houses commercial offices, retail outlets, and hospitality services in a single urban location.

The conversions also join Marriott’s existing luxury properties in Peru, including sites in Cusco and Paracas.

Through these changes, the hotel operator aims to boost its long-term investment in Lima’s hotel sector.

Earlier this month, BHVL and Marriott International opened Courtyard by Marriott Kochi Infopark in Kerala, India, after rebranding.
