Marriott International has revealed plans to officially open its new Edition brand hotel in Lake Como, Italy, in March 2026.
The property is located in Cadenabbia on the western shore of Lake Como, directly overlooking the Bellagio promontory.
It is developed in partnership with real estate company Omnam Investment Group and investment business Bain Capital.
The hotel occupies a building first built in 1830, returning to operation after significant redevelopment. The property features 148 rooms, including 25 suites and two penthouses.
All rooms facing the lake include original French balconies, which have been restored during the renovation process.
The Lake Como Edition incorporates a new wellness facility, which introduces longevity-focused treatments and biohacking therapies alongside traditional services.
The wellness centre includes an indoor thermal pool, a herbal sauna, Turkish bath, plunge pools and seven treatment rooms. The complex also houses a gym and meeting studios.
The site includes Cetino, the signature restaurant; Renzo, an all-day dining outlet with a terrace; and a lobby bar in the main hall. Dining at the property is led by chef Mauro Colagreco.
Guests can also access dining and lounge services by the floating pool, which is positioned on the lake in front of the hotel.
A private dock enables arrivals by boat and supports transport services along the waterfront with Edition’s boat fleet.
Edition collaborated with Neri&Hu and architects De.Tales for design and restoration work.
The structure maintains its 19th-century exterior while offering contemporary interiors with marble archways, terrazzo floors and extensive greenery that connects interior spaces to the natural surroundings.
The Lake Como Edition held a preview opening in September and October.
Edition senior vice-president and global brand leader George Fleck said: “This opening marks a new era in the Edition story, where the timeless glamour of Lake Como converges with a new generation of luxury.
"The Lake Como Edition represents the next frontier for the brand, setting a new benchmark for contemporary luxury defined by individuality, sophistication, and a strong sense of place.”
This opening marks Edition’s 21st hotel worldwide, joining locations in cities such as Tokyo, London, New York, and Riviera Maya.
