Global hospitality company Minor Hotels is expanding its NH Collection into the Balearic Islands, strengthening its brand presence in the key European tourism market.
Recently acquired by AX Partners, the existing Sir Joan hotel will be refurbished to meet NH Collection's premium standards before reopening.
The refurbishment will build on an update in 2017, enhancing the hotel's facilities and services, including its dining options.
The five-star NH Collection Ibiza will open in April. Overlooking the port of Ibiza and the old town, it will serve as a location for both national and international guests.
Minor Hotels Europe and Americas CEO Gonzalo Aguilar said: “The introduction of NH Collection into the Balearic Islands tourism market represents a strategic flag for the brand.
"It will allow us to position ourselves with an asset that will strengthen both our presence in Spain as a whole and our offering in a key location for our main outbound markets in the rest of Europe. It is also a significant milestone that coincides with the tenth anniversary of their NH Collection brand, which has established itself as a benchmark of quality around the world.”
The opening of NH Collection Ibiza follows the brand's expansion with the four-star NH Collection Alagna Mirtillo Rosso in Italy, which is set to welcome guests in March.
The launch of these two properties signifies a significant milestone for NH Collection, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary and nearly 100 hotels worldwide.
