New Zealand-based The Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre has switched from Clarity Hospitality Software Solutions to Mews platform.

The move is part of a broader shift following Mews’ acquisition of Clarity earlier this year.

Staff at The Parnell have already adopted the Mews platform, which supports real-time information access, automated processes, and online pre-arrival check-in for guests.

The hotel has also integrated Atomize, an AI-based revenue management solution, and has future plans to implement Mews’ event management system (EMS), self-service kiosks, and key card technology.

The Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre general manager Wayne Darbyshire said: “Atomize has been fantastic. It’s helping us optimise pricing, increase profitability and free up our team from manual revenue tasks.”

Since the acquisition of Clarity Hospitality, Mews reports that one-fifth of Clarity customers have moved to its platform.

Mews CEO Matt Welle said: “We’ve seen incredible growth across Australia and New Zealand since bringing Clarity into the Mews family. This is fuelled by hoteliers who see the power of automation to give their teams more time for what really matters: creating memorable guest experiences.”

Mews currently provides its technology to hundreds of hotels across the Asia-Pacific region and the United Kingdom, with the acquisition bolstering its market share in these areas.

The Parnell, with 101 guest rooms and apartments plus conference facilities, had used Clarity systems for several years.

The team decided to look for a single platform that could take the place of the multiple add-ons they had used before.

Darbyshire added: “Although Clarity was a great property management system, it had a lot of bolt-ons. With Mews, everything just works together seamlessly. We now have a single platform that’s intuitive, powerful and keeps both our guests and our team happy.”

The hotel is owned by the Norman Barry Foundation, which donates all operational surplus to charitable causes in New Zealand.

Clarity was established in New Zealand in 1992 to supply property and event management software to hotels and venues.

The company expanded into the UK in 2016 and now serves a client base of hundreds across both regions.

The acquisition of Clarity enabled Mews to expand further within these markets, as more hotels integrated its technology solutions.
