Developer Red Sea Global (RSG) has confirmed the opening of AMAALA Triple Bay, a luxury tourism destination on Saudi Arabia’s north-western coastline.
During the inaugural TOURISE Summit in Riyadh, the company announced the destination will open in the coming months.
A yacht club, a marine life institute, six resorts, a marina and a Marina Village will debut as part of the launch.
The location is positioned between the Hijaz Mountains and the Red Sea.
The first properties to open are Equinox Resort and Residences with 128 rooms and suites, including two penthouses and 21 branded residences, and Four Seasons Resort and Residences with 202 guest accommodations, 25 residences, and six dining venues.
Other resorts include Nammos Resort and Residences with 110 rooms and 20 apartments; Rosewood Resort with 110 rooms and 26 private residences in various zones; and Six Senses with 100 pool suites, villas, additional 25 residences and 3,000m² wellness spa.
AMAALA Yacht Club will also open in this phase alongside attractions such as Corallium, which highlights marine biodiversity.
The 144-room AMAALA Hotel will also open at the Staff Village. Owned by RSG, the hotel will feature an all-day restaurant and a snack bar.
RSG group CEO John Pagano said: “Deriving from the Arabic word for hope, AMAALA offers a new coastal lifestyle rooted in wellness right here in Saudi Arabia. Guests and residents are invited to discover and honour what it means for them to live longer, better, whether that be serene retreats or sea and sun-soaked adventures.
“Proceeding directly from timeless Saudi traditions of retreat, renewal and connection, AMAALA is the new home for wellness in the world.”
These developments mark a significant phase in Saudi Arabia’s tourism and real estate ambitions, supporting the objectives of Vision 2030.
RSG projects that the AMAALA development will generate up to 50,000 new jobs and contribute SR11bn ($3bn) to Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic product upon completion.
The company reported an investment of SR51.04bn for phase one of the AMAALA development.
Upon full completion of this phase, nine resorts will be open to guests, providing over 1,600 keys comprising both branded and unbranded units.
Additional three resort properties, namely Clinique La Prairie Health Resort, Jayasom Wellness Resort, and The Ritz-Carlton Resort, are scheduled to launch soon.
The developer has outlined environmental objectives for the site by capping annual visitor numbers at 500,000 to maintain ecosystem balance.
AMAALA aims for a net conservation benefit of 30% by 2040 through habitat enhancement efforts.
All operations at the destination are slated to run exclusively on renewable energy sources, which is expected to avoid around 350,000tpa of CO₂ equivalent.
