Marriott Bonvoy’s brand Ritz-Carlton has launched a new hotel on the island of Kyushu in Southern Japan.

Named the Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka, the property is located within the 111m main tower of Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City.

The hotel is situated on the topmost nine stories of the 25-level glass tower, which has been designed by Kume Sekkei of Tokyo.

It offers 167 guestrooms, spanning 50m², on 19th to 23rd levels.

These include 20 suites, beginning at 75m². Among these suites are the 132m² Presidential Suite and the 188m² Ritz-Carlton Suite, which offer a dining room and kitchen for private meals.

A private sanctuary called the Ritz-Carlton Club is located on the 24th floor and topmost level.

The hotel additionally features four restaurants and two bars, including the Lobby Lounge and Bar, Bay - which provides original cocktails along with chargrilled dishes and tapas, as well as Diva - which offers light meals, desserts and afternoon tea.

Furthermore, the property features the Ritz-Carlton Spa, consisting of single and double private rooms for treatments, an indoor swimming pool and a gymnasium with city views.

Other amenities include a chapel on the third storey, a 108m² Ritz-Carlton Studio and a 336m² Ritz-Carlton Ballroom.

The property also provides child-friendly amenities and activities from the brand's Ritz Kids programme.

Marriott International president Tina Edmundson said: “Since we first debuted The Ritz-Carlton in Japan in 1997, the brand has been consistently recognised for its legendary luxury and service, beloved by locals and visitors to Japan alike.

“We are excited to further strengthen our luxury positioning in the country by entering a new and emerging destination such as Fukuoka.”
