Scandic Hotels Group to add a new franchise hotel property in Finnsnes, Norway, with the opening targeted for mid-2028.

The project is being developed through a franchise arrangement with Norlandia Hotel Group.

This will be the second hotel to operate under the Scandic brand within this partnership.

Scandic Finnsnes will feature 154 rooms, a restaurant and meeting facilities targeting both business and leisure guests.

Norlandia Hotel Group CEO Morten A Kahrs said: “Finnsnes and Senja have strong potential within the hotel and tourism industry.

“The new hotel will become a landmark building in Finnsnes and is expected to attract many guests. Scandic’s strong brand, combined with the owners’ high level of commitment, provides a solid recipe for a successful hotel project.”

The new property is intended to deepen Scandic’s presence in Northern Norway and broaden its offering to travellers in the region.

In line with most of Scandic’s portfolio, the Finnsnes hotel is also expected to carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, described by the company as one of the stricter environmental labels in the hotel sector.

Earlier this month, Scandic outlined plans for a 135-room Scandic Go hotel beneath Drottninggatan in central Stockholm, Sweden.
