Shangri-La Group has entered an agreement with United Bodrum Turizm for managing a new resort in Bodrum, Turkey.

Located in Yalikavak on the north-west edge of the Bodrum peninsula, the luxury property Shangri-La Bodrum will comprise 70 rooms and ten private villas, along with a private beach.

It is scheduled to open in the first half of 2029 and will be situated near Yalıkavak Marina and The One Bodrum development.

Executives from both companies formalised the agreement at a signing ceremony held at Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong.

This marks Shangri-La’s second venture in Turkey, following its existing presence with the Shangri-La Bosphorus in Istanbul.

The company continues to focus on expanding its operations within Europe and the Mediterranean region.

Shangri-La Group executive director and CFO Chee Wui Chua said: “Bodrum’s spectacular natural setting, international appeal, and rising recognition as a global luxury hub make it an exceptional addition to our portfolio.

“We are delighted to bring Shangri-La’s timeless hospitality and contemporary sophistication to this remarkable corner of the world.”

With this development, Shangri-La aims to increase its footprint across leisure markets in the region.

United Bodrum Turizm chairman Güngör Çepni said: “We are proud to collaborate with Shangri-La Group on a project that will redefine luxury hospitality in Bodrum. This resort will set a new benchmark for refined living and elevate Bodrum’s global standing as a destination of distinction.”

In October 2025, Shangri-La Group opened two hotels at the Shanghai Hongqiao transport hub, with Shangri-La Hongqiao Airport and Traders Hongqiao Airport, operating within the same complex.
