Shiji, a hospitality technology company, has appointed Steven Hopkinson as senior vice president (SVP) for its Asia Pacific (APAC) and Middle East business.

This move underscores Shiji's commitment to expanding its regional leadership and innovation in hospitality technology.

Hopkinson's experience in hospitality and technology will be pivotal in driving Shiji's growth in the key markets. He previously served as SVP for Groups360’s EMEA and APAC business, where he led sales operations.

His career highlights include co-founding a Group Housing solution for the hotel industry, which was acquired by Groups360 in January 2020.

His expertise in “driving technology adoption”, “scaling businesses” and “building strategic partnerships” is expected to support Shiji's expansion plans.

Hopkinson's career began in the early 1990s, developing logistics software for the global freight forwarding industry.

Hopkinson was part of the founding team at PhotoDisc, later acquired by Getty Images, where he played a crucial role in expanding its business across APAC.

His leadership experience spans various media and technology companies and startups.

Shiji's appointment of Hopkinson highlights its ongoing investment in regional leadership, customer relationships, and hospitality innovation.

His deep understanding of established and emerging markets is anticipated to support Shiji's strategic expansion efforts, ensuring hoteliers in APAC and the Middle East receive cutting-edge solutions and dedicated support.
