The Indian Hotels Company’s Taj Mahal Hotel in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, is planning to expand by adding 96 rooms, designed to integrate with the current five-star establishment.

Situated in Vipin Khand, the project spans around 100,000ft² and is being carried out by CP Kukreja Architects.

The new extension offers views of the Gomti Nagar Riverfront and the Ambedkar Memorial Park.

The design is inspired by the established architectural style of the current hotel.

Indian Hotels Company real estate and development executive vice-president Suma Venkatesh said: “At Taj, every new chapter is about deepening our legacy while responding to the evolving aspirations of our guests.

“The design embodies quiet luxury and timeless elegance, creating a seamless continuation of the hotel’s iconic identity while offering guests an elevated experience of comfort, sophistication, and connection to the city.”

The façade showcases a blend of arched openings, corniced parapets and rectilinear windows while the design of circulation corridors will be kept simple to enhance the clarity of movement.
